Default salvage items

I found an dropped item that boosts health on some of my armor, but it's a salvage item. How do I use it to get the health boosts?

sorry...... i misread, this is a rune: link

I don't remember if it was double click the rune and then click the armor piece
or click the rune and double click the armor piece
or drag the rune to the armor piece.

I can't test it for you since I can't log on at this time.

second edit:
wiki says: "Upgrade components are enhancement items that are used to enhance or upgrade existing armor or weapons. They are applied by double clicking the enhancement and then clicking the desired item once."

and: "Upgrades are obtained by salvaging them from items already containing them using either a Perfect, Superior, Charr or Expert Salvage Kit. Only items with an Item rarity of blue or greater drop with upgrade components, and the item must be identified to be allowed to salvage the upgrades."

so..... salvage the rune of the salvage item you found using either a Perfect, Superior, Charr or Expert Salvage Kit and then double click it and click the desired item once.

They do not stack, so if you have one on your armor already, putting another one on will destroy the existing one.

What ele kid is trying to say is:

You need to buy an expert salvage kit from the merchant.

Double click on the expert salvage kit and click on the item you wish to get the rune off.

A dialogue box will appear asking you what you would like to do, salvage the rune, the Insignia (if there is one on this item) or salvage for materials.

Click on the armour boosting bit you wanted.

You will now find it in your inventory. The item you were salvaging from may have been destroyed in the process.

Double click on the armour adding upgrade and single click on an item of your armour in the character window.

Hey presto! Armour upgraded! If you need to take it off at any time (say you get new armour) then just repeat the process with the expert salvage kit on your armour piece. There is a chance that the armour will be destroyed though so only do it if you don't need the armour any more!

Some items that add armour are class bound (only certain classes can use them, you wont be able to add it to your armour if this is the case)

Some have effects that stack so if you have a piece similar to the one you just salvaged on each of your armour pieces you'll get their effects added together.

Some upgrades are un-stacking (they will say this in brackets on the upgrade description) so this means only one of these types of upgrades can be used on your hero's entire armour set. Other's added simply won't do anything!
